Academic Program Challenge and Relevance

A student that comes to Fort Hays State University can expect quality academic programs. Ranging from Nursing to English to Teacher Education to many, many other programs. So a student that comes here can get an opportunity to experience high quality, hands-on learning opportunities through Fort Hays State University. Experiential learning is really important for our students because it helps to prepare for post graduation. Specific to the Psychology department, in class, you'll have opportunities to work with faculty on learning about different clinical or therapeutic techniques. Getting to interview, getting to work with each other to develop real world application.

I think I've only had one faculty member in my entire time here that didn't have their PhD. All of them are extremely, extremely knowledgeable in their content area, especially in my graduate program during the higher education student affairs program. And I'm being taught by, you know, the Assistant Vice President of the University, the Vice President of the University for Student Affairs. All of those types of people that really have great experience in the field of higher education and are involved in it and constantly trying to make it better and all those things.
