Relationships is one of the key things at Fort Hays, and for me, personally, I was able to build a connection with one of my professors through research. He guided me into like, you know, knowing my way around the lab, and just really, you know, furthering my career in pre-med. Having a research background is super important. And so I was very grateful for that, and even guided me further to like getting connections with other professors as well.
So creating relationships here at Hays is really, really important. I'm from Minnesota, and it's a far ways from home for me. My second day here, I was like, "alright, I'm ready to go home". And I went and talked to one of my professors, and she really helped me, and she's like, "Alright, just relax, breathe". I kind of realized, you know, this is a big step in a person's life. But there's people here that will support you. It's a very tight knit community at Fort Hays.
I think I'll remember most of the people that I've met, and the bonds that I've shared, and just the memories that I've created here. I've just really grown as a person and become more of my own person and really found my personality here. I'm working in the admissions office, going to different classes, and meeting tons of different people from all walks of life, and it's just been a really fulfilling experience to become a tiger.
